Buenos Aires Update

Hi Everyone!

Sorry for not updating this frequently but time really flies! Where to begin...about a week and a ha
lf ago, I traveled up north to see my friend Lindsay in Tucumán. It was so much fun and really great to see her. Makes me wish we were traveling together the whole time! I stayed with her and her host family, ate great food, got massages, and went to the championship rugby game between Buenos Aires and Tucumán. Real great weekend, but was sad to see her go. I got pretty homesick when I left.

School officially began last week and I can tell i
t is going to be a real challenge. I am taking five classes- Ethnology of Latin America and Argentina, Argentine Lit, Latin American Lit, Human Resources, and Intermedio Alto (Advanced language practice). I like them all except for the Latin American lit class. The teacher is very difficult to understand, and the material is hard to follow, but I'm hoping I'll do okay.

This past friday, I went to the Microcentro to see the olympic torch. As usual in Buenos Aires, there were tons of protesters and rioters. It was cool to see though, none the less. Lots of people!!!

Then, on Saturday I went to Luján (which is about 60 km outside of the city) to a zoo. Here, I rode an elephant AND a camel for the first time! No big deal... Also, we got to go in the cages with the lions and tigers!

Anywho, lots going on down here. Hope all is well with
EVERYONE!!!!! Miss and love you lots!
